5W transportable (battery powered) two-way AM VHF communications radio, made in Coventry, England.

Beautiful craftsmanship and engineering, nobody makes anything like this any more.

Last used just over 10 years ago, but worked fine. It has been stored indoors subsequently.

Modifications

The standard hand-held microphone has been replaced by a DIN socket - the mating lead is included in sale.

In-built antenna / aerial removed in favour of external BNC connected antenna.

Cables / Accessories

The lead contains a citcuit for allowing a dynamic microphone to work with the radio, the original may have been carbon / electret.

The lead provides for connection of a "PTT" switch (Press To Transmit), headphones and microphone. No connectors / sockets installed.

The power lead is fitted with 12V car cigarette lighter plug, and also has a further adaptor with two crocodile clips.
